This policy explains how personal data is collected, used and protected when you visit jamesbradleydigital.com or get in touch through it. Plain language, no surprises.

Who we are

James Bradley Digital is the independent consultancy of James Bradley. This policy covers this website, jamesbradleydigital.com, where James Bradley is the data controller for any personal data you share. You can reach us any time at hello@jamesbradleydigital.com.

What we collect

When you use the contact form we collect your name, email address, company (optional) and the message you send.

When you submit the form we also record your IP address, browser type, the page you contacted us from and the date and time. We use these to prevent abuse and understand where enquiries come from.

This site does not use advertising or analytics tracking cookies. The only third-party request your browser makes is to Google Fonts, which serves the typefaces and receives your IP address as part of loading them.

Why we use it

We use your details to respond to your enquiry and work out whether we can help. Our legal basis is legitimate interests in handling enquiries about our services, and your consent where you choose to share information. We will not use your details for marketing without asking you first.

Who processes it for us

A small number of reputable providers help us run the site and handle enquiries:

• Google Cloud (Firestore) stores enquiry records, hosted within Europe.
• Resend delivers the email that tells us you have been in touch.
• Google Fonts serves the website typefaces.

We never sell your data and we do not share it with anyone else except where the law requires it.

Where your data is held

Enquiry records are stored on Google Cloud within Europe. Our email provider may process data outside the UK and EU; where that happens it is covered by appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry data for no longer than 24 months after our last contact, unless we are working together (in which case it is kept for the life of the engagement and any period the law requires) or we need it to deal with a legal claim. After that it is deleted.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or send it to another provider. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To exercise any of these, email hello@jamesbradleydigital.com and we will respond within one month.

Keeping it secure

The site runs over HTTPS, enquiry data sits behind access controls on Google Cloud and only James Bradley has access to it. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows the current version.
